Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the 5to9 mobile application (the “App”). By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email address, and (if you use Sign in with Apple or Google) the identifier and email those services share with us. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
• Profile data you choose to add: photo(s), Instagram handle, job, city, hobbies, gender, favourite drink/food.
• Content you create: events you host, join requests, direct and group messages, venue ratings, and uploaded photos.
• Location: your approximate/precise location (only while using the App, with your permission) to show nearby venues and events.
• Device data: push-notification token and basic technical information needed to operate the service.

2. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
• To show venues and events near you and enable messaging, friends, join requests and ratings.
• To send transactional emails (verification, password reset) and push notifications.
• To process subscriptions and enforce entitlements.
• To keep the community safe — reviewing reported content and enforcing our Terms.

3. Third-party services

• Cloudinary — image hosting for avatars and photos.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notifications.
• Apple & Google Sign-In — optional authentication.
• Apple App Store / StoreKit — subscription purchases (we never receive your card details).
• Email delivery (SMTP) — sending transactional emails.

These providers process data only as needed to deliver their function.

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

We process data to perform our contract with you (providing the App), for our legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, product improvement), to comply with legal obligations, and on the basis of your consent (e.g. location, notifications) which you may withdraw at any time.

5. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Moderation records may be retained for a limited period for safety and legal compliance after content is removed.

6. Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account inside the App. This deletes your profile, events, messages, join requests, ratings and photos. Some records required for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes may be retained for a limited period as permitted by law. You may also contact us at vigan_mustafa@icloud.com for assistance.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children

The App is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
